3 Things I Should've Done Sooner to Scale My Coaching Business...

If I could go back to when I first started my online business...

...there are a few things I’d tell my younger self that would’ve saved me a ton of time, stress, and effort.

Back then, I thought I had it all figured out:

grind harder,
hustle more,
and do it all on my own.

But here’s the thing—if my awareness had been what it is today, I could’ve sped up my success so much faster.

And today, I want to share what I’ve learned with you, because I know it can help you get ahead of other coaches and build the business you’re dreaming of.

Here’s what I wish I knew back then:

1️⃣ Mindset is Power

I thought the secret to success was in tactics—marketing hacks, sales tricks, sales funnels and content creation. Don’t get me wrong, those things matter, but your mindset? That’s the foundation of it all.

You need to believe that what you’re building is already possible. That you’re capable of achieving it. The doubts, fears, and imposter syndrome? They’ll slow you down more than any technical challenge.

So, what changed for me?

I started focusing on the long game. I stopped obsessing over every small setback and trusted the process.

I shifted from a scarcity mindset (“what if it all falls apart?”) to an abundance mindset (“there’s more than enough success out there for me, too”). And that shift made all the difference.

So here’s your win for today: take time to check in with your mindset. Are you focusing on growth, or are you stuck in the weeds of doubt?

2️⃣ Don’t Do It Alone

For the longest time, I was juggling everything—content creation, admin tasks, marketing, outreach, copywriting and all the technical stuff etc.

I used to be stubborn as hell. I thought, “No one can do it like me.” I wanted control over every little detail.

But let me tell you something: going solo will hold you back and only take you so far. When you’re trying to do 100% of the work yourself, you end up burning out and losing focus on the stuff that actually drives results.

My turning point came when I embraced the 80/20 rule: 20% of your efforts produce 80% of your results.

The rest? It’s the stuff that drains your brain power, energy, and time, but doesn’t move the needle as much.

My team today—my family and my girlfriend—helps me with that 80%. They take on the tasks that would otherwise pull me away from the core work that truly drives my business forward.

They handle all the things I mentioned above—things I know they’re better at than me. And because of that, I get to put my energy into the 20% that really makes a difference.

If I’d kept trying to do it all on my own, I wouldn’t be where I am today. By delegating tasks that are essential but not aligned with my core strengths, I’ve freed up the mental and creative energy to focus on the areas where I truly excel.

These tasks are still vital to the success of the business, but they’re better handled by people whose skills match the job—allowing me to focus on the high-impact work that drives the biggest results.

Today’s win: Take a moment to think about your own 20%. What tasks are truly pushing your business forward? And what can you delegate or get help with, so you can focus on what’s really working?

3️⃣ Purpose

When I first started, I was chasing the wrong things—money, recognition, the “success” I saw other people having. But I quickly learned that if you don’t have a strong purpose behind what you’re doing, it’s going to feel empty.

And worse? It’ll feel like you’re never really getting ahead.

When I started aligning my work with a deeper purpose—helping people, creating real impact—it not only fueled my passion, but it also brought more success my way. Clients connected more with my authenticity, and I had a clearer direction in everything I did.

Today’s win: If you’re feeling stuck or unmotivated, revisit your purpose. Why are you coaching? Who are you trying to help? When your work aligns with that deeper mission, everything else starts to fall into place.

If I knew these things when I first started, I would have fast-tracked my success, avoided so much stress, and probably achieved my goals even faster.

But here’s the best part—you do know these things now. You have the insights and tools to get ahead and make your coaching business everything you want it to be.

So, what will you do with that knowledge, Reader?

I’m telling you—focus on your mindset, get help (even from your family), and lean into your purpose, and you’ll be miles ahead of where I was when I started.
